CLARK'S TRADING CARD MANAGER (c)
Copyright (c) 1991 by Mike Clark All rights reserved
Being a baseball card collector, I wanted a way to easily manage
my cards. I tried a few programs, but they all lacked a lot of
features that I felt were necessary. Thus I decided to write my
own program, one that is very easy to use, and quite flexible.
I hope you will find it as easy to use as I have, and that it will
help you easily manage your cards.
The program includes help screens (press F1), and the program is
so easy to use that you will find a lot of documentation is not
necessary.
I will cover the main commands here, to help you get started.
A - ADD - add new cards into the database.
B - BACKUP - copy data files to floppy for safety.
D - DELETE - delete highlighted card.
F - FILTER - This is extremely handy. Allows you to filter out
all but the selected card type for viewing/editing.
Simply enter in one or more fields to specify the set
you wish to view.
H - HELP - explains how to use each menu.
L - LOCATE - Search for a specific card. you can enter just a
few fields and the program will search for a match.
J - JIFFY - Quick is a new feature in version 3.0. It allows you
to enter in all the common information to a complete
set of cards, or you can delete a whole set from the
data base. After adding a complete set, go back and
edit each record and simply add the players name and
correct quanitity. Be careful on deleted complete
set's, as it is not reversible.
R - RESTORE- Retrieve data file from floppy. Will replace the
data on the hard drive with data on floppy disk.
S - SORT - Sorts the cards in your choice of order. Default
sort is Year, Brand, Card set, and Card number.
T - TOTALS - Totals the number of cards and prices (x quantity).
If you have filter on, then only the selected cards
are totaled.
[ENTER] - Edit the highlighted card
[ESCAPE] - Exit the program (save all changes)
[HOME] - Moves to top record
[END] - Moves to bottom record
[PAGE UP] - Move up one screen of cards at a time
[PAGE DOWN] - Move down one screen of cards at a time
UPGRADING:
If upgrading from an old release, or from the non-registered
version to the registered version, replace all files with the new
ones except for the 'TC.DAT' file. 'TC.DAT' contains all your
card records and will work with the new release.
Version 1.0 Upgrade:
If using version 1.0, delete 'TC.DAT' and rename your old 'MTC.DAT'
to 'TC.DAT' as follows:
ERASE TC.DAT
RENAME MTC.DAT TC.DAT
I recommend you copy 'TC.DAT' to floppy disk regularly as a good
backup procedure (this is done automatically now by selecting 'BACKUP'
from the main menu).
